Freehold's Best Italian Restaurants

Freehold . . . known for it's great schools and family-oriented community spirit . . . also may be known for having some pretty good restaurants.  Here are 4 of our favorite Italian restaurants in the downtown area.

La Cipollina Ristorante

For something special, try La Cipolilina.  Their well-dressed and attentive wait staff will spoil you.  So will the elegant cheeses and fresh vegetables.  Try their homemade mozzarella or their classic French chicken breast . . . both customer favorites.

Federici's Family Italian Restaurant

For a casual lunch or dinner try Federici's, which has been a family-owned Freehold staple for over 85 years.  The restaurant, which could double as a museum, serves delicious pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, soups and salads.

New Commmercial & Residential Project Proposed for Downtown Manalapan

A 123-acre mixed-use project, to be named “Manalapan Crossing”, has been proposed for downtown Manalapan by developer, Vito Cardinale of Cardinale Enterprises.  If approved, Manalapan Crossing will be located at the intersection of Route 33 and Millhurst Road.

The proposed plans include spaces for dining, shopping, a hotel, an arts and exhibition center, luxury residential apartments, a medical research facility, and a supermarket. Proposed outdoor amenities include an amphitheater for live concerts, an outdoor theater, and an ice skating rink.

Sounds exciting!  If approved, the project will create a substantial number of local jobs and tax revenue.  Read more about the project and see a photo at Main Street Marlboro.
