EDT?   Well, it's the official start of Spring, of course, or otherwise known as the March or Vernal Equinox!  According to the Old Farmer's Almanac the March Equinox occurs when the Sun crosses the celestial equator on its way north along the ecliptic.  It's been so cold and snowy that it's hard to believe Spring is really only a few weeks away.
