The Importance of Customer Reviews

According to the research findings of the Annual Bright Local Consumer Review Survey 2016 84% of people trust online reviews as much as a personal recommendation, and 90% of consumers read less than 10 reviews before forming an opinion about a business.

Well, the real estate industry has been relying on a form of reviews, personal referrals, for a very long time.  A large percentage of consumers will ask family, friends and co-workers to recommend agents to them.

At the closing of each sale, our customers are provided with a Century 21 Satisfaction Survey to complete.  At the end of the survey, they have an opportunity to write a recommendation for their agent.  Please take a moment to read what our customers have to say about the service they received from our agent associates.

We're proud of our entire staff for their dedication to truly serving the needs of their clients.  View Our Customer Reviews

What You Need To Know About Radon In New Jersey

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer after smoking. There are no standard medical screening tests to detect radon exposure.  Testing your home is the only way to know if radon levels are high. You can’t predict the amount of radon in your home based on how old or new your home is; it depends on the ground on which it is built.

Monmouth County falls within the highest potential for radon (Zone 1) according to Environmental Protection Agency data. So, testing your home for radon levels is certainly recommended.  See the radon zone map for New Jersey: http://www.city-data.com/radon-zones/New-Jersey/New-Jersey.html

The good news is that testing for radon is easy and inexpensive.  And, if you find your home has higher than safe radon levels, the problem can be solved by a relatively simple solution.

Selling Your Home? How a Sale Can Impact Your Taxes

Generally, any profits you earn are taxable. However, when you sell your home you may not have to pay taxes on the money you gain . . . it all depends on whether you fall within the qualifying guidelines.

Here are 10 items to consider when selling your home:

1. You May Qualify for an Exclusion of Gain.  You may be able to exclude part or all of the gain from the sale of your home. This rule may apply if you meet the eligibility test. Parts of the test involve your ownership and use of the home. You must have owned and used it as your main/primary home for at least two out of the five years before the date of sale.
